Because Breakdowns Never Send a Calendar Invite

A flat tyre. A dead battery. Keys locked inside. These things usually happen at the worst possible time. As a Pineapple comprehensive motor policyholder, you automatically have access to our Road Emergency Service, ready to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What’s Included

Your Road Emergency Service covers a range of common roadside hiccups:

  • Flat tyre – Call-out fee + up to 1 hour of labour.

  • Flat battery – Call-out fee + up to 1 hour of labour.

  • Keys locked inside – Call-out fee + up to 1 hour of labour.

  • Out of fuel – Call-out fee covered (fuel cost is on you).

  • Mechanical/electrical breakdown (excluding accidents) – Tow to the nearest service provider or safe storage. (Extra tows aren’t covered.)

Limits of Cover

  • Total benefit: R4,000 per policy year, or 2 incidents per year (whichever comes first).

  • More than 100km from home? You may also get:

    • Vehicle storage – Up to R400 per incident.

    • Hotel stay/car rental/taxi – Up to R400 per incident.

Towing After an Accident — Read This Twice

Breakdown towing is included, but accident towing is different.

If your car is damaged in an accident and needs towing:

  1. Call Pineapple first.

  2. We’ll arrange towing to the nearest Pineapple-approved repairer.

  3. We’ll cover the reasonable costs for towing and storage.

Warning:

If you use a non-approved tow truck without our go-ahead:

  • You’ll be liable for all towing/storage costs yourself.

  • If your claim is approved, we may deduct those costs from your payout.

  • If your claim isn’t valid, you’ll pay the full towing/storage/release fees before collecting your vehicle.

Bottom line: Call us first, stick to our approved network, and your Road Emergency Service (087 365 8626) will save you time, stress, and money.
