Your Policy Evolves. So Should Your Awareness

Your motor insurance policy isn’t carved in stone. It’s designed to adapt to changes in your life and shifts in the wider world. That’s how it stays relevant and keeps you covered.

The Dynamic Nature of Your Policy

Like all insurance providers, Pineapple can update your policy's terms, conditions, or premiums. This can be because of:

  • Inflation

  • Changes in claims patterns

  • Regulatory updates

  • Market shifts

Transparency matters: if changes are coming, we’ll give you 31 days’ written notice to your last known email address before they take effect. That’s your time to review, ask questions, and make sure you’re still happy with your cover.

Your part?

Keep an eye on your Compensation Limit, which should match the full value of your insured vehicle. While that limit doesn’t change after a claim, your premium might. We can adjust premiums on your Anniversary Date or, in some cases, from the date of a loss or damage. Terms and conditions may also change after a claim.

Annual Renewals & the Anniversary Date

Your policy runs month-to-month, but the Anniversary Date (12 months after your Cover Start Date) is still significant.

On this date:

  • Your policy automatically renews if your premiums are up to date.

  • We’ll re-estimate your vehicle’s current Insured Value.

  • Your premium is adjusted to match your vehicle’s market value, factoring in depreciation and market trends.

This keeps your premium fair and your cover realistic.

Your Role in Keeping Your Cover Right

  • Review annually – Use your Anniversary Date as a check-in to confirm your cover, values, and details.

  • Update material information immediately – Changes to address, regular driver, vehicle use, or traffic/criminal offences must be shared right away.

  • Read and understand communications – Notices about changes or adjustments matter. If something’s unclear, reach out via the Pineapple App, website (pineapple.co.za), email (fresh@pineapple.co.za) or WhatsApp (060 012 3771).

Bottom line: The more you engage with your policy, the better it can keep pace with your life. Stay informed, keep your details current, and your motor insurance will be ready when you need it most.
