Losing your phone or having it stolen is an awful experience! ;(

Blacklisting your device after a theft/loss helps fight crime and helps get your claim approved quickly.

Once a device is blacklisted, it is placed on the Equipment Identity Register (EIR) and is rendered unusable in many countries.

Below are the appropriate contact channels to blacklist your device

After your phone is blacklisted, you will be issued with an ITC number which you should then use on your police report when reporting the incident and provide to our helpful claims agents.

Vodacom

  • Call 082 135 from a cellphone

  • Ask the customer service agent for the ITC number.

MTN

  • Call 083 135 from a cellphone

  • Ask the customer service agent for the ITC number.

Telkom

  • Call 081 180 from a cellphone

  • Ask the customer service agent for the ITC number.

Cell C

  • Call 084 140 from a cellphone

  • Ask the customer service agent for the ITC number.

NOTE: You will most likely be asked for your IMEI number and other personal details whilst completing this process. (Check out this article for how to get your IMEI number - Spoiler alert - it's as easy as dialling *#06#)

Remember to write down your ITC number and your case number when opening a police case, as these are needed for all insurance claims. 🍍
