Pineapple Social Media Competitions General Terms & Conditions

Official Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) for all Pineapple social media competitions, covering eligibility, prize rules, winner selection, and data privacy.

These Terms and Conditions apply to all tactical social media competitions (“Competition”) run by Pineapple Tech (Pty) Ltd (“Pineapple”).


1. Promoter

The promoter is Pineapple Tech (Pty) Ltd, Registration No. 2017/068043/07.


2. Eligibility

  • Competition is open to South African residents aged 18 or older.

  • Employees of Pineapple, their immediate family members, or affiliated agencies may not enter.

  • Participants must have a valid social media account and email address.


3. Entry Requirements

  • Entry mechanics are stated in the specific competition post.

  • Actions may include commenting, guessing, tagging, liking, following, or sharing.

  • Incomplete or fraudulent entries will be disqualified.

  • Multiple entries may be allowed, depending on the post.


4. Competition Period

  • Start and end dates are stated on the relevant post.

  • Entries outside this period will not be considered.


5. Prize Details

  • Prizes typically include Takealot vouchers ranging from R1,000 to R3,000, unless otherwise stated.

  • Prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash.


6. Winner Selection

  • Winners are selected via a random automated tool.

  • Pineapple’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  • If the chosen winner does not respond within 72 hours, Pineapple may redraw.


7. Winner Notification & Prize Delivery

  • Winners will be notified via a comment on their entry and asked to send Pineapple a Direct Message (DM) with their name, email address, and contact number.

  • Winners will receive their voucher via email within 5–7 working days.

  • Pineapple is not responsible for incorrect contact details supplied by the winner.


8. Publicity

  • By entering the competition, participants agree that Pineapple may repost or share their entry for promotional purposes.


9. Disqualification

Pineapple may disqualify entries that:

  • Use offensive or inappropriate content

  • Attempt to manipulate the outcome

  • Fail to meet entry requirements

  • Come from fake accounts or bots


10. Customer Service Boundaries

  • Customer Service agents do not manage competition queries.

  • All competition matters are handled by the Marketing Team only.


11. Data Protection

  • Personal information collected from winners is used only to deliver prizes.

  • Data will not be sold or shared outside Pineapple.

  • By entering, participants acknowledge Pineapple’s Privacy Policy.


12. Legal

  • Pineapple reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the competition at any time.

  • Pineapple will not be held liable for technical issues, platform outages, or delays beyond its control.


13. Acceptance of Terms

Participation in the Competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
