Like every policy, there are some situations we can’t cover. And while the list looks long, most of it comes down to “stuff that isn’t accidental loss or damage.” Common exclusions include:
Fraud, dishonesty, misrepresentation, or anything deliberately caused.
Big systemic risks like war, riots, labour strikes, or terrorism (unless you add SASRIA cover).
Nuclear material or confiscation by lawful authorities.
Consequential loss (the knock-on costs, like losing income because your laptop was stolen).
Scams or theft under false pretences.
Wear and tear, mildew, corrosion, poor maintenance, or gradual deterioration.
Damage caused by insects, pests, or domestic pets.
Domestic disputes or illegal activities.
Items used for business purposes that weren’t declared.
Power failure-related damage caused by grid issues, blackouts, or shutdowns.
A range of specific technical exclusions, like software corruption, electrical/mechanical failure, or damage covered elsewhere (warranty, service contract, etc.).
If you’re not sure whether something sits inside or outside cover, it’s always safer to ask us up front.
