Requirements for phone claims

For us to pay out on a cellphone claim, the phone must be blacklisted through:

  • the Equipment Identity Register (EIR), and

  • the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) system.

Blacklisting prevents the phone from being reused or resold, and it’s a standard industry requirement. Without proof that the phone is blacklisted, we can’t settle the claim, so this step is non-negotiable.
